Signs of a bed bug infestation can be: bites on exposed skin while sleeping, on the face, arms or neck as these are usually not covered by the bedding. The bites could be raised and itchy. You could find spots of blood on your bedding, maybe by squashing a bed bug or from their bites. You may see small brown spots on bedding from bed bug poo.
The female bed bug can lay eggs in a furniture crack and along seams on or near the bed, or on furniture or sofas where people sit. An adult female can lay between 200-250 eggs in the two to four months they are alive. The eggs hatch in six to ten days. The newly hatched nymphs immediately feeds on blood.
